close with the singing of "Now
Rest Beneath Night's Shadows,"
by the Glee Club.

Hold Centennial Service
The Centennial Sunday of the
Diocese of Huron (Anglican) was
celebrated at St. Mary's Church,
Dublin, by consecration and, rais-
ing of a new church flag, donated
by the Rev. J. N. James. During
the centennial church service the
prize winning • centennial hymn,
written by the Rev. James, was
sung. A new church sign and flag
pole, donated by St. Mary's Guild,
were installed for the service.
Hold Holy Name Rally
Several hundred men and boys,
members of the Holy Name Socie-
ty in the parishes of Dublin, St.
Columban, Kennicott, Clinton,Blyth
and Seaforth, held their annual
church parade at St. Patrick's
Church, Dublin, on Sunday. The
guest speaker, a Redemptorist
Father from London, gave an im-
pressive sermon on Pentecost. The
recitation of the Litany of the
Holy Name and Solemn Benedic-
tion completed the services, with
Rev. E. P. Weber, as celebrant,
assisted by Rev. J. McCowell, St,
Columban, and Rev. Graham, CIin-
ton.

KIPPEN NEWS OF THE WEEK
Mr. Robert Cooper received word
of the death of a niece, Mrs. Arn-
old Deyell, of Peterboro, who pass-
ed away Monday. She leaves to
mourn her loss, her husband, Mr.
Arnold Deyell, and two children.
Mr. Cooper and his sister, Mrs.
Andrew Bell, left Kippen Tuesday
morning to attend the funeral on
Wednesday.
Mr. Ivan Forsyth and Mr. Art
Gibson, of Wroxeter, left Kippen
by bus on Tuesday morning to
attend county council in London.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Finkbein-
er entertained Sunday evening at
their home to honor Mrs. Fink-
beiner's father, Mr. Carl McClin-
chey, of Hensall, whose birthday
was on Monday. He was present-
ed with a gift and a birthday cake.
Members of the family present
were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClin-
chey and Nelson, of Hensall; Mrs.
Edna Oswald, of Zurich, and Mr.
and Mrs. Murray Dalton and fam-
ily, of Kippen.
On Saturday a pleasant after-
noon was spent at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. John Alexander, when
forty relatives and friends gather-
ed to honor Miss Iris Castle, sis-
ter of Mrs. Alexander, before her
departure on June 22 to St. Lucia
Island, British West Indies.
Those present included: Mr. and
Mrs. Norman Alexander and fam-
ly, Londesboro; Miss Ruth Alex-
ander, Exeter; Miss Isabel Alex-
ander, Toronto; Mr. and Mrs.
