In her 66th year, Mrs. Fee was
tht former Irene Lipphardt, of
Zurich', and had been a resident
of Hensall for many years. She
was a member of the United
Church.
Surviving are on son, Charles,
of London, and two stepdaughters.
Mr, Fee .passed away May 5, 1955.

January this year and had been
hospitalized' ever 'Sinee. She was
a native of Huron county, having
spent most of her life in Exeter.
Her husband predeceased her 30
years ago at Kippen. Mrs. Johns
was,a member of Hensall United
Church.
Surviving are one daughter,
(Mabel), Mrs. Albert Shirray, of
Hensall; five grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren. A daugh-
ter, Mrs. A. Gower, of St. Cath-
arines, passed away ninepsyearS
ago. -
Funeral services were held at
the Bonthron. Funeral Home, Hen-
sall, Monday, conducted by Rev. C.
D. Daniel, who paid fitting tribute
to the life of the deceased. Burial
was in Baird's cemetery. Pall-
bearers were Jim Bengough, Sam
Dougall, Lloyd McDonald, Alex
Munn, Ken Elder and Lorne Chap-
man.

^I The Vocation and Bible School,
held in Cavan Church last week,
was a decided success. Some 40
children registered and the attend-
anceremained high throughout
the week. Rev. J. R. Holden, Mrs.
Ernest Toll, Miss Betty Axtmann
and Miss Margaret Boyd were the
teachers in charge. The boys learn-
ed carpentry and finished two
enches for the church and one
bird house, while the girls made
religious scrapbooks and worship
centres. Besides taking up prac-
tical work, they also had Bible
study.
Mrs. Bert McKay, London, call-
ed on Mr. John McClure on Sun-
day.
Mr. Thomas Holden is spending
a few days in Innerkip.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hawley spent
the weekend in London.
Mr. Charles Dolmage has re-
turned from the hospital and, is in
improved health.
Rev. and Mrs. J. R. Holden and
family leave on Friday for Win-
dermere in the Muskoka area,
where they Will spend part of their
holidays.
Mr. Verne Dolmage is spending•
three weeks at Woodeden Camp,

with relatives here.
Ted Norminton has returned af-
ter vacationing with his sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ar-
thur Traquair, of Woodstock. ,
Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson and
Frank, of St. Catharines, spent a
few days last week with the lat-
ter's sister, Miss Phyllis Case, and
aunt, Mrs. C. Hedden. „
The Misses Gwen Spencer, Jane
Horton, Gail Cunningham, Peggy
Goddard and Carol Brown left on
Sunday to spend ten days vaca-
tioning at Keewaydin Girl Guide
Camp, which is -situated 25 miles
north of Goderich. Mrs. T. Lav-
ender is one of the leaders at the
camp, and Gwen Spencer and Jane
Horton are junior leaders.
Hensall Library will be closed
August 4 to 21.
Mrs. Mary Lynche and Brian, of
Oshawa, and Miss Elvera Church-
ill, Toronto. spent Saturday with
Mr. and Mrs, E. R. Shaddick.

Motorbike in Huron
For the first time' since 1941 a
motorcycle will be used by the
Huron County detachment of the
'Ontario Provincial Police in an ef-
fort to curb speeding, careless and
reckless driving on county roads.
Constable Morley Groves, station-
ed at Goderich, will' man the new
machine. Constable James Culp,
now retired and living in Goderich,
was the last •officer to ride a
motorcycle out of Goderich.

Guest of Honor
Mrs. Anne Rowland and Mrs.
Helen Nolan, of St. Columban,
sponsored a miscellaneous shower
in honor of Miss Mary Holland,
who was married Saturday. The
evening' was spent in contests and
games. Mrs. Nolan read an ad-
dress, expressing good wishes, and
gifts were opened and presented ,to
the guest of honor. A lunch was
served.

W. Keith Buck. 36. has Veen- ap-
pointed chief of the Mines Depart-
ment's mineral resources division
succeeding Dr. G. C. Monture,
who has retired, it was announced
in Ottawa this week.
A native of Seaforth, Ont., Mr.
Buck studied , mining engineering
at McGill University and Ottawa
University. During the Second
World War he served overseas for
four years.
Mr. Buck is a member of the
Canadian Institute of Mining and
Metallurgy and the American In-
stitute of Mining, Metallurgy and
Petroleum engineers.

ban Wednesday evening.

SINCE 1946 the average price of Canadian steel
O rolling mill products has gone up a bit more
than 70 per cent.
But the -price of scrap, a vital raw material for
the steelmaker, went up 181 per cent in the same
period; and the,price of labour in the primary
iron( and' steel industry by 130 per cent.
Nearly all other prices, including the price of
labour, have risen higher and faster than have
steel prices in the post-war period.
