Bill Fink has successfully com-
pleted his three-year course at\the
Beal Technical School, London, in
sheet metal, drafting, etc., and will
now be on the staff of the Ed. Fink
Plumbing and Heating permanent-
ly.
Anne McKelvie, little daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. D. J. McKelvie,
had her tonsils removed at Clin-
ton Community Hospital Monday
morning of this, week:-
The Legion Ladies' Auxiliary
held a successful bake sale in the
Legion Hall Saturday afternoon,
with some very fine baking offer-
ed for sale.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Roobol visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Ant. Gelderland
and Ron, of Ridgetown. .
Mrs. C. L. inks. who returned
home from South Huron Hospital,
Exeter. last. week. recovering from
a fractured hip, is suffering with.
pnoumonia. Her many friends
wish her a speedy recovery.
Mrs, Lorne McNaughton spent
a few days last week with her
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Roy McLaren, of London.
Mrs. George Ibbotson, of Kin-
cardine, visited -his mother, Mrs.
William Pepper. last week.

Young People's Society of the
United Churches enjoyed a wiener
roast at Port Blake on Friday eve-
ning last.
Mr. 'and Mrs. Harry Gibson and
Bobby. of Sudbury, are visiting
this week with the latter's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne McNaughton.
Lodges Attend Church Service
Members of Hensall Lodge 223,
I.O.O:F., and Amber Rebekah
Lodge attended the Independent
Order of Oddfellows' annual church
service for Huron District No. 8
at Brucefield United Church Sun-
day evening. Rev. Sydney Davi-
son, minister of the church, spoke
on the subject, "Friendship."
Ralph Henderson, of •Goderich, was
soloist.
, One hundred._and. forty Masons,
representing South Huron Masonic
District attended divine service
in a body at the United Church
Sunday evening, and were address-
ed by the .Rev. C. D. Daniel, dis-
trict chaplain of South Huron, as-
sisted by Rev. H. T. West, district
chaplain of North Huron. Rev.
Daniel chose for his sermon topic,
"The Temple." The choir sang an
anthem and a trio, composed of
S. G. Rannie, Nelson McClinchey
and T. W. Horton sang a number.

rected proceedings.
Pian Manse Work
At Carmel, Hensall
The Ladies' Aid of Carmel Pres-
byterian Church met at the home
of Mrs. Alex McGregor. The devo-
tional and social part of the -meet-
ing were taken by Mrs. A. Orr's
group. Mrs, W. R. Bell read the
Scripture lesson, followed by a dis-
course on the lesson, taken by Rev.
D. MacDonald. who also contribut-
ed a -poem. Mrs. J. Bonthron ren-
dered a lovely solo, and a saxo-
phone solo by A. R. Orr, accom-
panied by Mrs. M. Dougall was
enjoyed. The offering was taken
by Kathryn MacGregor and Elean-
or Wright.
Mrs. M. Dougall, president, con-
ducted the business. - On motion
of Mrs. P. Campbell and Miss Han-
nah Murray, the Bible given Brian
Bonthron for eight years of Sunday
School attendance will be donat-
ed by the Ladies' Aid. The final
donation of $107 for Army Pres-
byterian Girls' Home is to be for-
warded and Mr, Alex McGregor
is to arrange for laying the floor
in the manse kitchen.
There were 28 adults and six
children present, Plans were out-

A program included: sing -song,
reading, Mrs. Roobol; piano solo,
Verlyn Miller; skit by the 'Bono-
dary trio, composed, Of Mrs. Itoo-
bol, Mrs. J. Glenn and Mrs. T.
Brintnell; reading, Min Alexan-
der; solo, Miss Margaret Keller,
accompanied by Miss Maja Roo -
bol. Maja read, the presentation
address and Ann Alexander ,and
Jean Anderson brought in the gifts
in a wagon beautifully decorated
in pink -and white. Pink and white
streamers and balloons were the
house decorations.
Luncheon was served.. The af-
fair was attended by some thirty-
five neighbors and friends.
