Petition for municipal drain by Elgin Rowcliffe, on lot 34 and 35, concession P, and proceeding to an outlet over the North Boundary road into the Geiger Drain on lot 1, concession 1, of the Township of Tuckersmitb, was considered .by council. The reeve was authorized to sign the petition on ..behalf of the township for the road portion of the area, on motion of Jeffery and Hern. Council accepted the petition and appointed C. P. Cor- bett, P.Eng., of Lucan, as engineer on the drain, on motion of Hern and Love. Tax collector William Johns re- ported very few collections since the April meeting. but that he had been promised a total of $780.00. There are $4.557.66 in 1955 taxes still unpaid. Council instructed him to collect as much as possible before the last date for returniltg the roll to the treasurer. The road superintendent, W. J. Routly, reported to the council and his report, along with road ac- counts to a total voucher of $2,- 204.69, were passed on motion of Love and Hern. The treasurer, N. G. Clarke, reported receipt of 111.71 to General Account and 9440 in accounts receivable from he road superintendent; balance of cash as of April 30, $6,895.06.' Current accounts in the amount f $1.83599 were passed for pay- ment on motion of Jeffery and Love.
