Initiate Members
Eight new members were admit-
ted into membership of Hensall
Kinsmen Club at an initiation
ceremony in charge of twelve
members of the initiation team of
Stratford Kinsmen Club at the
supper meeting of Hensall Club,
held at the Kosy Korner Grill on
Thursday evening. The roll now
stands at twenty-five.
Clarence McNaughton. George
Sawyer. Allan Crerar, Robert Rea -
burn. Ron McGarvie. Gordon Hark-
ness, Roger Venner and Jack Cor-
nell were the new members.
During the business session it
was disclosed that the Christmas
trees have arrived and are now on
display at the Texaco Station, No.
4 Highway. operated by Kinsmen
Wm. Clement. and beside Drys -
dale's Hardware Store.
In a draw, a member of the
Stratford Club was the lucky win-
ner. The next meeting will be at
the Kosy Corner Grill Thursday,
December 29.
Damage was estimated at $100
in an accident Sunday on Highway
No. 4. just south of Hensall, when
a northbound car driven by Bruce
Moir. of Hensall. skidded on ice
and went into the east ditch, break-
ing off a telephone pole.

erally felt to be the lowest in the

This Saturday -
The annual Christmas party for
the children of Hensall and com-
munity will be held Saturday af-
ternoon, when Santa will arrive at
the Town Hall at 2 p.m. He will dis-
tribute treats to the children, after
which films will be presented in
the Town hall.
The annual visit is sponsored by
the Chamber of Commerce and
Hensall Branch 468 of the Cana-
dian Legion.

McKnight, of Gait, visited recent-
ly with their parents, Mr. and Mrs.

end at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Alex McGregor and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Taylor, of
Stratford, visited Saturday with

Master Bradley Littleton. son
of Mr. and Mrs. 0. C. R. Littleton,
has been confined to Victoria Hos-
pital, London, the past week, and
is expected home on Wednesday
of this week. His mother remain-
ed in London during his illness.
We all hope for a speedy recov-
ery.

Sunday with the latter's father,
Mr. Robert Thomson.
Mr. Hank Bennindyke. who is
employed in Hamilton. spent the
weekend with his parents, Mr.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Gackstet-
ter and family, of near Exeter,
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold
Gackstetter on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dickert
and Merle visited Sunday in Lis-
towel with Mr. Dickert's mother,
who has been in failing health.
Mrs. Robert McBride has been
confined to her bed at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Schnell, of
Camrose, Alberta.
We are pleased to report Mrs.
Dinsdale is much improved.
Mr. Jim McGregor was rushed
to St. Joseph's Hospital. London,
on Friday, having received a min-
or scratch on his hand which
quickly turned to lockjaw. At the
time of writing he was reported
as being somewhat improved. Jim
is secretary of Hensall Calf Club.
A speedy recovery is wished by all.

Arnold Circle Installs Officers
The Arnold Circle of Carmel
Church held their Christmas meet-
ing at the home of Mrs. Stewart
Bell Monday evening. The presi-
dent, Mrs. Mary Hildebrandt, op-
ened'the meeting with prayer and
the hymn, "Christians, Awake,"
was sung. Minutes, roll call, birth-
day fees and business followed. An
excerpt from Glad Tidings was
read by Mrs. Verna Fink. The wor-
ship service, with the theme, "Good
tidings of great joy," was prepar-
ed and capably given by Mrs. Sadie
Hoy with Miss Hannah Murray and
Mrs. Shirley Delft assisting. The'
group joined in singing, "Joy To
the World," and prayer by Mrs.
Hoy concluded the worship ser-
vice. Rev. D, McDonald installed
the officers for the coming year
and gave a very inspiring address
about Christmas and what it
means to one and all of us. The
closing prayer was repeated by
Rev. Mr. McDonald. Lunch was
served under the convenership of
Mrs. Myrtle Orr.
Auxiliary Christmas Meeting
