Discusses Problems
The regular meeting of the Hen-
sall Kinsmen 4-H White Bean Club
was held Wednesday on the farm
of club member Jack Bell. The
meeting was opened by repeating
the 4-H Pledge in unison. Roll call
was answered by 34 members, who
replied by stating if fertilizer was
sown on their farm plot.
Club leader Bill Mickle outlined
the Huron County 4-H train trip to
Toronto on July 19. Each club
member told about his plot of
beans and a panel discussion' on
caring for, harvestiog and market-
ing of beans followed. On the panel
were Louise Hyde, Jack Bell, Keith
Lovell, Bill Mickle and Bill Row-
cliffe. Some things discussed were:
do not walk or work in a bean
field when the plants are wet, be-
cause of rust. Diseased plots were
discussed and the infestation iden-
tified. Also discussed was the
making of a float for the H n,sall
Bean Festival on Sept. 5.
The next meeting will re held
July 21 at the Huron Count4j Home
at Clinton, in connection with the
Huron Crop aid Soil Association's
twilight meeting.
