The fine farm on 'the Kippen road, south of Seaforth, mimed' by William Doig, has been sold to Arie Binnendyke, with im- mediate possession. n' pERE Tower-1rust PARR LINE FORUM The regular meeting of the Parr Line Farm Forum was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Love. A very interest- ing discussion was held, led by John Soldan, with 25 members present. (1) To what source do young farmers in your area look for credit when they are establish- ing their own farms? The young farmers in this area turn to the various sources, such as V.L.A., Junior Farmer Establishment Loan Corporation, but in the majority of cases, mortgages are obtained from private sources. Banks finance the purchases of farm implements, etc. (2) How can a young farmer avoid unduly heavy investments in land live stock and equip- ment when igetting started? We think that With the present prices of farm products, cou- pled' with the tremendous cost of buying and equipping ' a farm of his own, very often eq- uals the cost of the farm. A young farmer would have to re- vert to the horse and buggy methods of his forefathers. This forum suggests that youngfar- mers should rent land adacent to their father's farm, sharing the use of implements, until such time when he has saved enough capital to start on his own. Some members held that V.L.A. might be revised to cov- er all young farmers of Can- ada. After the discussion, progres- sive euchre was held, prize win- ners being: ladies, Ws. John Soldan; gents, Howard Adidas The next meeting' will be helcd at the home of Mr. hnd Mrs. Wen Weide', 1b PROCLAMATION By resolution of the Council, I hereby proclaim MONDAY, DECEMBER 27th BOXING DAY A HOLIDAY and respectfully request the Citizens and Businessmen to observe the same DR.
