told of visiting a home in Calgary,
and about the growth -o1 a mission-
ary hospital in Lamont, Alberta, In
closing, Mrs. McLeod told of a
Chinese nurse and her experiences.
Mrs. D. `Kyle, in charge of the
devotional, read the scripture les-
son and presented an interesting
article dealing with Missions. Miss
M. Ellis offered prayer. Miss W.
Cray, secretary, read a thank -you
note from Mrs. R. S. Thurtjell, re-
ferring to her farewell gift, a
hymnary. (During the 'business per-
iod mention was made of a bake
saleto be held the 'first Saturday
in May. Committee named to make

The film, "South of the Clouds,"
was presented in Carmel Presby-
terian Church, Hensall, last Sun-
day evening. The United Church
congregation attended and Rev. J.
B. Fox was assisted by Rev. J. W.
Rogers. Topic at Carmel next Sun-
day morning is,. "Death Holds No
Fear."
Husband of Former
'Hensall Girl Dies
Harold Whitney Carter, 41, Clin-
ton. died suddenly in Victoria Hos-
pital, London. Monday night after
being admitted,lo the hospital the
same day. He was born in Clinton,
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac
Carter, -and was employed at Clin-
ton R.C.A.F. Station. Surviving are
his widow, the former Ruth Hed-
den, Hensall; six children, the
youngest one year old, Catherine,
Patricia. Rosemaay, David, Michael
and Janet; also'five brothers and
three sisters.

Paul's Anglican Church, Hensall,
last week entertained the Mission-
ary Societies of Trivitt Memorial,
Exeter; St. Thomas' Church, Sea -
forth; St, Paul's, Clinton, and' St.
James', Middleton.
President Mrs. R. H. Middleton
conducted the meeting. Slides on
the study book, "Thine is the
Glory," were shown and, a solo,
"Green Pastures," . was sung by
Miss Jean Henderson. . Rev. C. L.
Langford closed with the benedic-
tion. Tea was served and a social
hour spent.
Hensall Legion Names
Secretary -Treasurer
President Donald Dayulan pre-
sided for the monthly meeting of
the Hensall Branch, of the Cana-
dian Legion in the Legion, Hall last
Monday. E. R. Shaddick was ap-
pointed secretary -treasurer to re-
place Jim Clark, who held the posi-
tion for three years.
A special meeting will be held'
next Monday night, April 20, to ap-
point a representative to the Re-
creational Council. Committees
will report regarding Coronation
celebration plans. Plans were dis-
cussed for the public meeting in
the Town Hall next Wednesday,
when a Recreational Council for
the village will be formed.
