This Week At the Seaforth High School
(By George Shaw)
Well, folks, here we are back
again after a long holiday. it real-
ly seemed funny, though, baying
Christmas holidays in rainy wea-
ther.
ee-ther.
The students have been rather
quiet since they came back from
Christmas.; that is, all except the
Students' Council. They have bean
having meetings concerning thea an-
nual At -Home.. The decorating com-
mittee is underway and the invita-
tions will soon be sent. This year
the first invitations will sent to
the students' parents, and then to
the friends of the.. students. If, af-
ter these there is still room for
more people, invitations will be
sent to other people who would like
to come.
The date has been finally set for
Feb. 17. •The orchestrao will be
Lionel Thornton and his Casa Roy-
als. The price of the dance has not
been definitely set`yet, but it soon
will be. Those who wish to attend
this dance should. see' a. student or
member of the staff for invitations.
* * '
With the weather being almost
like Spring and supposedly the
time when peosle's fancy turns. to
the opposite sex, the students de-
cided fiat they wanted a dance.
They got the Student's Council to
have one next Friday. Thisdance
will be a little different' than us-
ual. In the early part of the eve-
ning there will be films which have
beeu selected frpm Toronto. After
the films there will be dancing and
probably a luneh. The price of the
dance wilt depend entirely upon
the cost of renting the Ohne,
Public School
News
Here we are back to school again
and the first thing on the'program
was the report cards: Some of us
looked very sad indeed.
They are giving inoculations at
the school for lockjaw and diph-
theria thismonth and February.
One of the pupils, in Grade 1
"Where is Mission Band today?"
The teacher said, "At the Pres-
byterian Church."
The pupil replied, "Oh, I'm not
related to that church."
The talk now is about the com-
ing cantata, "Tom Sawyer," which
we hope to present during Educa-
tion Week, early in March.
Master of, Ceremonies (to audi-
ence of two): "And if you've en-
joyed the show will you tell all
your -friends to tell all their friends
to tell all their friends to tell all
their friends. That should about
fill the place."
