their annual meeting on Wednes-
day, Dec, 7, at 2 p.m. in the school
room of the church The officers

meeting. The guest speaker will be
Mrs. Ropert McKercher. Will all

reports ready for this meeting.
SUMMERHILL
The November meeting of Sinn-
merhill Ladies' Club was held at
the home of Mrs. Neville Forbes
with 25 members and five visitors
present. The meeting opened with
the singing of "The Maple Leaf
Forever," and repeating the Lord's
Prayer in unison. The minutes of
the last meeting were read and
adopted and thank -you cards were
received frow Mrs. Russell Good
and Mrs, Wilson, A quilt was
started during the afternoon. The
program consisted of a reading by
Mrs. Keith Tyndall; a reading by
Mrs. Ed. Farquhar on "Homes," and
by Mrs. Neville Forbes, on "Prime
Minister Nehur." Mrs. Knoblaueh
won - the raffle. The roll call for
December will be a gift suitable
for a child. The December meet-
ing will be held at the home of
Mrs. Percy Gibbings on Wednesday
afternoon, Dec. 7. The lunch com-
mittee will be Mrs. Chester Far -
quer, Mrs. Wesley Hoggart, Mrs.
Gradon Neal and Mrs. Knoblauch,
while the program will be in charge
of Mrs, Percy Gibbings, Mrs. Hay-
ward. Mrs. Wesley Hoggart and
Mrs. Wm, Jenkins.
Keep It Cool
An overheated, stagnant atmos-
phere lacks invigoration, makes for
slackness and irritability and en-
courages colds. Moreover, it makes
ventilation difficult because enter-
ing air seems chilling by compari-

at abnormally high temperatures

appendicitis. Latest reports are
that she is rapidly improving and
that she will soon be able to leave
the hospital.

spent the week -end visiting his

spent Sunday with friends in Zur-
ich.
Mrs. Elzar Mousseau and daugh-
ter, Marilyn, were in, London on
Saturday last.
Mrs. Percy Collin, of Walkerton,
spent the week -end with. her sis-
ter, Mrs. Harvey Damm,
Rev. Mr. Downs, of the United
Church, Exeter, exchanged pulpits
with Mr. Hinton on Sunday last.
Miss Ida, Dayman, of London,
spent the week -end with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dayman.

she has a position nursing in a
New York Hospital.
