caded from it. Preceding the bride
down the aisle were three attend
ants wearing identically st)*led sat-
in gowns, fashioned with Boor -
length bouffant skirts gathered to
slim fitting waists, and low ber-
thas caught with loops of the same
material. Mrs Jack McDonald, of
Brussels, was matron of honor,
wearing an orchid toned gown. and
carrying a cascade bouquet of yel-
low Gloria roses. The bridesmaids
were Miss Irene Burt, Stratford, in
minuet green and Miss Dorothy
Parke, Seaforth, wearing bluebell
blue. Their flowers were colonial
bouquets of pink Rapture roses.
Half bonnets and lace mitts to
match their dresses completed the
costumes. The best man was Mr.
John Oldfield, brother of the bride,
and the ushers were Mr. Alvin
Dale, Seaforth, and Mr. Jack Mc-
Donald, Brussels. Following the
ceremony a reception was held for
the guests at the home of the
bride's parents. Mrs. Oldfield re-
ceived wearing a dress of dove
blue with black accessories .and a
corsage of red Briarcliffe roses.
Mrs. Stanley Garnham received for
the bridegroom in a black 'dress
with 'black and white accessories
and a corsage of red Briarcliffe
roses. The hpme was decorated
with white Princess gladioli. The
wedding supper was served by
Mrs. Raymond Nott, aunt of the
bride, assisted by Mrs. Carl For -
well, Preston, Mrs. Ken Chambers
and Mrs. Leonard Strong, Seaforth,
cousins of the bride, and Mrs. M.
Williams. For her wedding trip
the bride donned a• dress of sun
ray gold with brown accessories.
After a trip to Woodstock, Preston
McKillop Charge. -The services

will be held at Duff's Church only
at 11 a.m. next Sunday, Aug. 10.—

Death of , Margaret Shannon. --
The death occurred on Sunday,
August 7, of Margaret Shannon,
daughter of the late William James
Shannon, in her 8'6th year. She
was born in McKillop on lot 18,
con. 4, and lived there until 17
years ago, when she went to Eg-
mondville to live, Deceased at-
tended school at Duff's, McKillop,
and had lived at home all her
life. She was the last of a`.mfamily
of seven children. The funeral
was held from her late residence
on Wednesday at 2 p.m., with Rev.
A. W. Gardiner, of Egmondville
United Church, officiating. Inter-
ment took place in Maitlandbank
cemetery. The pallbearers were:
Sol Shannon, John Shannon, John
Henderson, Errol Habkirk, Roy Mc -
Mane and William J. Shannon.
Death of Mrs. Charles Aberhart.
—Much regret was expressed by
her many friends when it lihcame
known on Monday that Mrs. Chas.
Aberhart, formerly Helen Penman
Jones, had passed away. Mrs, Ab-
erhart was taken ill about a month
ago while holidaying at Bayfield
with Mr. Aberhart at their cottage,
and was removed to St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, where she pass-
ed away on Monday. Born in
Blyth 71 years ago, she came to
Seaforth and followed' the millin-
ery trade in Edward McFaul's
store. In 1903 she was married to
Mr. Aberhart, who survives, to-
gether with two sons, Dr. William
Aberhart, of London, and Dr. Carl
Aberhart, of "Toronto; also two
brothers, Robert 'Elgin Jones, of
Orillia, and John Carl Jones, of
Port Colborne- Mrs. Aberhart was
a member of 'First Presbyterian
Church and was active in all its
branches. At' one time she was a
valued member of the choir, and
in later years held the office of
secretary and treasurer of W.M.S.
Mrs. Aberhart will be greatly
missed by a host of faithful friends
who valued her advice and friend-
ship. The funeral was held Thurs.,
day at 2 p.m. from the Whitney
r uneral Chapel with Rev, D. ls,
eamlrbeil officiating. Interment
was in Maitlandbank cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dalton Malcolm,
George Pepper, M, McKellar, J. E.
Keating, C. Reith and M. A. Reid.

Rev. C. D. Daniels, of Ingersoll,
performed the ceremony. The
bride, given in marriage by her
father, was smart in a floor -length
dress of white Swiss organdy with
traditional train and veil. Her
flowers were white orchids. Miss
Marna Ofield, of Ingersoll, and
Miss Doreen Heslop, of London,
were the bridesmaids, and wore
mauve and green Swiss organdy,
and carried bouquets of summer
flowers, Mrs, Ross Cronin, of In-
gersoll, was the matron of honor,
who wore a becoming ensemble"
The ushers were, Lorne Murray,
Ingersoll, and Don Cook, Cooks-
ville. Mrs. Harold Riddols sang a
solo and was accompanied by Mr.
Rididols, who also played the wed-
ding music. A reception for fifty
guests was held later in the church
parlor, where the wedding party
received the guests, Later Mr. and
Mrs. Heslop left on a trip to Ot-
tawa and on their return will re-
side in Ingersoll.
