Established originally in,the 1870's
• bye W. M. Robertson, the business was
later taken over by W. 0. Reid and
Robert Wilson and known as Reid &
Wilson. During that period the large
business block, now °owned by E. L.
Box and 'accommodating the Box
furniture , and 'undertaking business
and the Academy Billiard Parlor, was
erected as headquarters of the firm.
In subsequent years the business was
owned and operated by various inter-
ests until about 1912, When it was tak-
en over by. the late H. Edge. It was

George D. Ferguson, who ,.since
1924 has ' owned the Ferguson
Hardware, which moves to a nevi
location, in the gddfellows' Block
April 1, has taken an' active part
in all community activities since
becoming a resident of Seaforth.
A former member of the council,
he also served on the. Public
. Utility Commission, of which he
was Chairman, in 1945 and 1946.
He, is a Past President of the
Seaforth Lions Club, and --for a
number of year was Chairman of
the Lions Club Park Committee.

pressed his appreciation of the patron-

the gathering that despite the resump-
tion of -'the major fairs in Ontario this
year, the Holstein -Friesian Asocia'
tion 'had decided to continue grants
to Black and White Days and Cham-
pionship
hampionship Shows on the same basis as
in the past few years. Mr. Terry
pointed out that ,the major factor be-
hind this decision was the belief by
the directors that the Black and
White Days and Championship Showe
had created -strong popular interest in
type and had. benefitted the breed
greatly in this regard.
Mr. Terry pointed out that one of
the major extension efforts of the as-
sociation this year was the endeavor
v
to get as many herds as possible on
Record of Performance test, in par-
ticular, those that were raising bulls.

film and Club Presidenit W. Sparks,
Bayfield, spoke briefly. •
