$t. Thomas' Branch of the W.A.. was
held at the Rectory Tuesday after-
noon with- an average `attendance,
Mrs: C. F. L. Gilbert, the- president,
opened the meeting with 'selected in-
tercessions, from the Litany, special
prayene from the W.A.. Book, the.
Memhers' and Lerd'a Prayer in • un--
eon. Mrs. W. E. 'Southgate read the
Gospel for All Saints' Day. "Mrs. Gil-
bert-spoke
il-bert-spoke on the significance of All
Saints' Day and reported on the large
attendance and interesting program
of the semi-annual held at Ingersoll.
Th,e various reports were read and
accepted, subscription fees taken for
the Living Message, the offertory re-
ceived and dedicated. The second
chapter of the study book, "India At
the Threshold," was reviewed by -Mrs..
-Gilbert. .The church calendar is now
on sale, all Prost to .be used to carry
on the work of the Junior WA. in
c•nnectionwith the bale. .The ani
nuai meeting will be 'held Dec; 2 at
the Rectory. .Mrs: Gilbert closed the
meeting with the Collect for Ail

W. M. S. Holds Thankoffering.—The
Women's Missionary Society held it,
thankoffering meeting in First Pres-
byterian Cburcch • on Tueeday, Oct. 29,
Mrs. Robert Eberhart presiding. Mrs.
H. McMillan, gave the Bible, reading,
and Mrs. Ritchie a prayer. Mrs.
Hamilton, of. Atwood, President of
Stratford Presbyterial, was the guest
speaker. Mrs. Hamilton brought con
cise and pertinent information on dif-
ferent phases of the work discussed
at the ,annual council meeting held in
Toronto in • September, which was
thoroughly appreciated by her atten-
tive listeners. Mrs. - Charles Aberhart
moved a vote of ..thanks, seconded by
Mrs. J. Beattie. The collection, re-
ceived by Mrs. T. Swan Smith and
Mrs. Harry Stewart, amounted to •$57,
the dedicatory prayer being given by
Thompson. A solo by Mrs.
F. Kling was much enjoyed. An invi-
tation to 'hold the November meeting
at Thornton Hall was • extended by
Mrs. James F. Scott. The closing
prayer was, given by Mrs.. Williams.
Mrs. Geddes was pianist. At the close.
of the meeting a cup of tea was en-
joyed, served by the social" commit=
tee.

—The Egtnondville W.M.S. and W.A.
met .at the home of Mrs. Alex Pepper
on Tuesday with Mrs. A. Boyce, presi-
dent of the W.A., in the chair. The
meeting opened with the singing of
the. hymn, "Breathe On Me, Breath of
God," and repeating the Lord's prayer
in unison, The roll call was answer-
ed by a verse Af Scripture containing
the word 'Faith,' by 25 "members and
two.visitors. The minutes of the last
meeting read and adopted. The treas-
urer gave a report of the ,ploWing
match meals, which indicated receipts
of $1;902.61, expenses of $485.48, leav-
ing a balance of $1,417.13, A vote of
appreciation was extended to all who
in any way helped to make this, Such
a huge success. The collection was
received, amounting. to $3.10. A let-
ter of thanks was received from Mrs.
Chesney for the box of frnit, etc.,
sent during her illness. The meeting
was turned over to the W.M.S. with
Mrs. W. A. Gardiner in the ;chair. Fol-
lowing the worship service ..in, the
Missionary Monthly, the theme being
"Fulfilling , Our Church :Membership,"
verses 1-5 of Hynni 358 were. read as
a ,prayer and Mrs. Gardiner led in.
prayer. Hymn 358 was then sung and;
Mrs. Watson' read the Scripture les-
son, Epbesians 4:145, and -the much
loved hynin of Indian Christians was
read responsively, "The Jesus Road,"
Verses four and• five of Hymh 154
were read .as a prayer, Mrs,. Roy Mc-
Gonigle and Mrs. Adrian Forbes gave
a repdrt of the Sectional meeting held
at Walton on. October 24, Which mer-
ited a vote of thanks. Special refer-
ence was made to Mrs. White, presi-
dent of the W.M.S., London Confer-
ence, and Miss Coutts, who had at-
tended Alma College last August.
Mrs. Keyes gave a paper on temper-
ance and three •siehr "oails were report-
ed. It was agreed to havethe autumn
thankoffering at the November meet-
ing when, it •it expected Mrs. (Rev.)

Bannon.- Masse.—St. James' Catho-
Church, Seaforth, was:the setting
for the wedding of Miss Loretta Kath-
leen Bannon, daughter of Mrs" Ellen
Bannon and the late Thomas Bannon,
to Mr. Dolph Clement Masse, son of
'Mr, Nelson, Masse and the late Mrs.
Masse, on Saturday, October '19. Rev.
T. P. Hussey performed a double ring
ceremony and sang the Nuptial High
Mass. Mrs. Frank Devereaux played
Lohengrin's wedding march as the
bride walked into the church ou the
arm of her brother, Leon. The bride
wore •a white satin go' n designed
with a sweetheart neckline, gathered
torso and long sleeves' coming to a
point over the hand. Her headdress
was in satin edged with. net ,.from
which hungher embroidered veil end-
ing in a long train. Her only jewelry.'-
was a string of pearls, and site car-
ried red roses tied with white stream-
ers. The bridesmaid, Miss Betty Ban-
non, wore blue lace and net with cor-
al, trimmings and matching mitts. Her
headdress was similar to the bride's.
with shoulder -length veil, and carried
a bouquet of pink carnations. Little
Miss Carol Ann Flannery, niece of the
bride, was flower girl, dressed in pow-
der blue angel skin, trimmed with
coral ribbon with matching, head-
dress, carrying a nosegay of baby
mums centered with roses and Carna-
tions. The groom was attended by his

afternoon tea in Clinton Town Hall

Mrs. B. J. Gibbings has returned
home after a visit to her new grand-
son — son of Mr. Jack Gibbings of
Stratford.

O'Rourke Maloney
A pretty autumn wedding was sol-
emnized in St. Columban Church by
Rev. Father O'Drowski when Mary
Margaret, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Peter E. Maloney, St. Columban, was
united in marriage to Patrick James,
youngest ,son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
O'Rourke, Dublin. The bride, given
in marriage by her father, looked
lovely in an ice blue dressmaker suit,
blue feather hat, blue accessories and
a corsage of pink. roses. Her only
ornament was a strand of pearls, the
gift of the bridegroom. Miss Kathryn
O'Rourke, sister of the groom, was
maid of honor, wearing a light grey,
suit, grey accessories and corsage of
red, -roses. 'The best man was Mr.
Clayton Looby, Dublin. Dinner was
served at the home of the bride's par-
ents to.sttme forty guests. The bride's
mother' received in a gown of flower-
ed silk jerseywith a corsage of pink
and white carnations. The:., groom's
mother chose a mauve gown with a
similar
corsages of carnations. The
bride's table was centred with a three-
tier wedding cake. 'A`Iarge white bell
with pink and white streamers was,
suspended over the table, On their
trip to Hamilton and Niagara Falls,
the bride donned a navy sheer dress
with navy accessories. Guests attend-
ed the wedding from Detroilt, Toron-
to, Hamilton, London, Saulte Ste.

largely attended with an ideal supi-
mer day for the occasion. At the
morning service ,the speaker was Rev'.
Trueblood, of Crediton, who also sang
a solo, with special music by 'the
choir, Mrs. Wanda Stephens taking
the solo part, 'In the evening the ser-
vice was taken.. by Rev. A., H. Dayn-
ard, of •Staffa, with the, ohoir assist-
ing under the direction of the pianist,
Mrs. ,W. Batten. A duet was render-

neth Johns. The church was nicety
decorated with baskets of gladioli and
