Bowling on
The Green
(By Bill Hart)
Everyone is waiting for the time
when they can throw away the coal
shovel,give the old- ash bucket a }tick
and get outside to have some outdoor
exercise. . We can expect some half
decent weather any time-n.o'w, and
when it does come the bowling sea-
son' will start. •
-
The local tournament committees -
ladies and men -have •arranged to
have a number of tourneys during the
season, with lunch as a special at-
traction.
The canvassers have been arou' ,d
and report they had no trouble at al'
in securing members for the season.
Of course there are many missed in
this way, but don't let that stop you
from bowling. We have been asked
to put a note in this column inviting
any person in Seaforth, or surround-
ing'district, to try their hand at the
_game. There are quite a few new
members, but there is always room
for more.
• Every soldier, sailors or airman will
automatically become a member of
the Bowling Club on returning home.
If you know of any who have etirrn-
ed and have not received a• member-
ship ticket, get in touch with Presi-
dent W. J. Duncan, Secretary R. J.
Sproat, or Treasurer C. M. Smith, and
they will attend to it immediately.
Some time soon the men'will enter-
tain the ladies. This usually takes
the form of an afternoon tournament,
followed by supper. No date has
been set, but it usually comes early
in June.
If you want to be where'the crowd
is this summer . . ;kiln the bowlers.
