Many summer work, but repair costa
on 'snoh trucks are relatively low.
Mains are .the cause of inereaate,d
impaet on snow. plow trucks so that
we use the ,enow type tug tire,
rit-
out Chain% and 'replace them in the
summer, as such tires are net setts-
fa.etory for thigh speed summer work.
Nene of our truck wings are ttf the
full hydrau.lic type, but the porchase
of that type of w.ing is to be recom-
mended as there are so many ob-
structions to be met with, that much
time would be saved with the outfit
and more comfort provided for the
operator, if such wings were used. It
'is our practiee to provide heavier,
plows than that recommended by the
manufacturers So that there will be
no need bo take them to the shop for
,reinforeing, or repair. Moreovier, the
larger plows .will operate satisfactor-
ily in deeper snow.
•Our wow& are operated day and
night when there is plowing to do. In
the past we have usedonly• two shifts
of operators, but the work is, strenu-
ous, and thie year we are consider-
ing three Shifts. The .foreman in
chat ge .of each unit. is required to

of our units .are 'seldom Within reaoh

such plows is a wart ' of hardship
and endurance and it is doubtful if
many who use the open road in the
wintei realize that it is, made possible
by men who carry out such jobs as
greasng a tractor during a zero wea-
