but quiet wedding was solemnized at
the Seaforth United Church Manse on
Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock,.when
Marion McCullough., daughter of Mrs.
David McCullough and the late Mr.
David McCullough, of East Wawanosh
was united in marriage to Harvey .Al -
bed Letherland, younger son of Mrs.
Wil'hemina Letherland and the late
Mr. Letterian,d, East Wawanosh. Rev.
Carmichael officiated. The bride
looked lovely in a gown of blue alieer
and matching accessories. They were
attended by Mn anti Mrs,. Wilfred
Glazier, of Hoiniesville and Miss Ruth
Glazier, dressed in pink, made a
charming little flower girl,' carrying
.bouquet of pink tulips Following
the ceremony the party motored to
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Glazier at Heinle -seine where a wed-
ding dinner was served. The young
couple will reside on the groom's
farm in East Wawanosh.
• Funeral of Mrs. Robert Beattie.—
The ftineral of the late Mrs. Robert
'teattie, who died suddenly at her
tlome, on Tiffany St., Guelph, on -Sun-
day. May 22nd, was held on Wednes-
day. May 25th, to Union Cemetery,
Guelph. Rev. Johnston conducted the
service. Mrs. Beattie, wbose maiden
name was Elizabeth Johnson, was the
oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Johnson, of Gaderich St. East, Sea -
forth. She and Mr. Beattie were resi-
dents of Seaforth before going to
Guelph. She is survived by her hus-
band and one daughter, Mrs. Ven Al-
len, of Morden„ Manitoba, and tele
sena Wililam an Edgar, of Guelph,
and three sisters, Mrs. W. Sillery and
Mrs. William Sboldice, of Seaforth,
and Mrs. James Littlejohn, of Galt,
all of Wham were present for the fun-
eral except Mrs. Sholdice, who was
seriously ill and nvat able to be pres-
ent.

A very pretty wedding took place
on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the home
of Mr. anal Mrs. Epthriam Clarke,Hul-
lett, on the beautiful lawn which was
tastefully arranged in early sunemer
flowers, when their daughter, Muriel
Doreen, became the r bride of Mr.
Charles Stewart Dolmage, eon of Mr.
and Mrs. Chas. Damage, of McKil-
lop. rtefv. A. W. Shepherd, of Eg-
mondville, performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a pretty gown of
chalk blue. Miss Viola Clark was the
brideenaaid and Mr. Lorne Lawson
was groomsman. MigileS Alma Leitch
and Edith Hillen assisted in serving
the wedding dinner. Following the
ceremony the nappy young couple left
on a honeymoon trip to -Toronto, Kit-
chener, Niagara Falls and Peterboro.
They will reside on the groom's farm
at Winthrop, where they will be at
home to' their friends in the very
near future.

Mrs. Sturgeon and family in their sad
loss.
Death of Thomas H. McCurdy
Following an illness of more tihtan
one year, Thomas H. McClellan, well-
known resident of Stratford for nea,r,-
ly forty years and veteran sportsman,
succumbed at his residenice, 139
Front St., at neon, Tuesday. Mr. Mc-
Curdy had been up and around dur-
ing the past year but had suffered
from a complication of aliments. In
recent years he had made bis borne
on .a farm near Bayfield in the sum-
mer montheand spent the winter
season at the family Wale in Strat-
ford. Familiarly known as Tom Mc-
Curdy, he will be rem'em:bered as one
of the best lawn bowlers' of his day
in Ontario and won prizes galore at
mares of the larger tournaments in
various parts of the province. Next
.te lawn bowling, the late Mr. Mc-
Curdy was an ardent golfer, being a
veteran member of the Stratford
Country Club, as well as the golf
club at Bayfteld, • His prowess at
many ,sports was known and among
his possessions are numerous pictures
and trophies won in competition.

place in a decorated chair and an

ented when her girl friends assisted
in reading the appropriate verses
which accompanied the gifts. Lunch

day. Miss Hugill was the gold med-
allist for general profieiency for the
graduation glass. Quite a number at-
tended the exercises in the afternoon
and, Miss Donelda Adams. and Miss
Helen Britten and their escorts at-
tended the dance at the country club
in the evening. ,

The Walton group of the W.M.S. of
Duff's United Church held their
monthly meeting at the home of Mrs.
Charles Sellers on, Thursday, May 26,
wlth twenty ladles present, Mrs. C.
Drager presiding. The meeting Was
opened by singing the hymn, "Take
Pime To Be Holy." Prayer was of-
fered by Mrs. Wm. Woods, followed
by the ScrIptine reading by Allis.

the. quilt. The June meeting is to
be held at the home of Mrs. William

was sung and. Mrs. Robt. Reid closed
with prayer. Lunoh was served by
