Northside W. M. S. Meets. -The se -
cal meeting of the W.M.S. of North-
side United! Church was held on
November 25th in the basement . of
the church: It took the form of a
shower of infants' and small chil-
dren's clothing and there was a lib-
eral response to the appeal, made for
these useful articles. The devotional
part of the meeting was in charge of
Mrs. Glew, . Hymn 91 was sung and
prayer was offered by Miss Lawrence.
Mrs. Barber read the Scripture les-
son from Psalm 103 and Mrs. Koine
gave a reading entitI "The Influ-
ence of Little Things.' This was
much eneayed- Hyann ,81 was suing
and Miss Murray read- about "Cancel-
Ied Prayer." Then Miss Lawrence

short time ago and severely' injure

• The six -hand, euchre club wish
to thank Mr. C, Eckert for his hos-
pitality and, the many pleasant even-
ings
venings spent at his home, and hope he
may be spared to enjoy many more
games. There are eighteen fans in.
the club and they generally meet on
the Main Street to choose the five

the night's play.

London hospital last week to undergo
treatment on her eye.
Mr. Howard Johns entertained the
Young People's Unarm to a social ev-
ening on Tuesday night of this week.
The regular meeting of the Y.P.S.
of Cavan Ch-tirch, Winthrop, was held
in the basement of the church on
November '2rd, with the Constance
Young People as guests: The presi-
dent, Stewart Dolmmage, presided over
the meeting.. which opened with a
Lymn, after which Stewart led in
prayer. Tie, Scripture lesson was
taken by Siva Pryce. Rev. Mr. Craw
then led in prayer and a hymn was
sung, atter which the offering was
received. Miss Isobel Craw then
gave a eery interesting talk on her
trip to Vie Old Country which was
enjoyed by all. A duet was sung by
Kathleen Sbannon and Olive Pryce;
Arthur Dinnin gave an instrumental;
the Winthrop News was read by Art
Alexander and Stanley Hillen gave a
selection on the violin with Miss
Edith Hillen:'onethe piano- A very
interesting half hour . was spent in
contests and games. Bill Jewitt then
thanked the`' Winthrop Young People
on behalf of the Constance Young
People for the enjoyable evening.
Lunch was then served and the meet-
ing closed aVith "God Save the King."

in her pleasing manner Rev. Gard-
