News of the Town
Junior Women's Institute. — The
monthly meeting of the Women's In-
stitute was held at the biome of Miss
Jean 'McLean. The meeting opened
by the Instiitute Ode followed by the
Lord's Prayer. The roll cull was an-
swered by thirty, who gave recipes
for Christmas candy and salad's. The
aninutes anld treasurer's report were,
read and "0 Canada" was sung. Tlfe
report of the delegates tat the Lon-
don. Conference was given • by Bessie
Rice and Annie ,Papple, There were
seven visitors and thirty members
in attendance. 'Greta Broadfoot game
a piano solo and a Ch'ristm'as hymn
was. slung. Mrs. A. Crosier gave a
Christmas story. A vote of 'thanks
by ..Ruth Gordon and Mrs. Harvey

Young People's Meeting
The Meeting 'of the Young' People -
of Cavaco Church was held on Tues-
day evening and +open'ed with the call
to wor bi,p, Hymn 390 was sung,
fo1l,we4 by prayer by Neil Mont-
gomery, who aisle read the Scripture
lesson. The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and adopted.' The
election of officers took place as fol-
lows: 'President, Kenneth Betties ;
-vice-president, •Harto'ld Bolton; 'secre-
tary -treasurer, Nbsrine Little. The
Society was 'divided into groups, the
lender for each group being: No. 1,
-Phomas Blamehiard; No. 2, Irene Bol-
ton; No. 3, Marian Little; No. 4,
Stanley Hillen; Collectors, Leslie
Dolmage and Allan Campbell; Audi-
tors for 1936, Bill Montgomery and
Thomas Blanchard. Maar a short
•social time, lunch was served. The
meeting. •closed with a hymn and the
Lord's 'prayer.

The Junior Farmers and Junior In-
stitute will Timet in the hall on Wed
nesday,. December 18. The roll call
for the girlls' meeting will be "Hints

husband will take up residence after

Death of Mrs. E. G. Brown
(On December 3rd there died at the
Nome of her starter, Mrs. M. J. Mit-
chell, 1616 (Greene Ave., Bay City,
Michigan, a former well known resi-
dent of this vicinity .in the person of
Mrs. Ed. G. Brown. Her ,madden
name was Agnes McGeoeh, eldest
daughter of the late William Me-
Geoc'h and Grace Carnochian, of Tuck-
ersm:ith. She was ban 81 years ago
on the farm now occupied by Matthew
Haney, but moved to. (Michigan many
years ago, where she resided until
Ther death. A private funeral was
held front Blanchard Funeral Home
and intelment was made in Elm Lawn
cemetery. She is survived by her
sister, Mrs. Mi.tcheli, •anid' one bro-
ther, William iMc'Geordh, of London.
The late Samuel McGeoch loo' Egmond-
ville was a Ibrotlher; another brother,
Dr. James McGeoch„ and a sister, Is-
abella McGeoeh, Ibobh of Bay City,
predeceased hersome ; ` . - ago.
