Death of John M. Henderson.—Af-
ter a trying illness of two years,
borne with cheerfulness and Chris-
tian fortitude, Mr. John M. Hender-
son passed away at his home, North
Main Street, en Tuesday, July 9th.
The deceased was a son of the late
William Henderson, one of the pio-
neer residents of 'JcKilio.p, where he
was born and the greater part of his
life was &pent. Of recent years he
had resided in Seaforth. He is sur-
vived by his widow, formerly Miss
\Iclntosh, of McKillop, and by one
brother, -lir. Andrew- Henderson, who
is the last surviving member of a
family of ten. A private funeral was
held from his late residence on
Thursday afternoon, when the ser-
vices were conducted by Rev. C. C.
Kaitie. Interment• was, oracle in Malt -
landbank Cemetery, the pallbearers
being Messrs. Henry-, Andrew and
Norman,Henderson, C. C. McIntosh,
Hugh McIntosh and 'William Beattie,
Among those from a distance who
attended the funeral were: Messrs.
Hugh McIntosh, C. C. McIntosh and
Mrs. H. V. Gilbert, Mr.' and Mr•s.
Harry Aclatrns and Mr. Norman Hen-
derson, all of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs.

tion," Mrs. (Robert McGonigle then
led in prayer. After the Scripture
reading by Mrs. John Forrest, Mrs.
W. F. McMillan gave the devotional
leaflet. Thepresident, Mrs. Charles
Malcolm, presided during the •bu'si-
ness session. The minutes and' roll
call were read by Mrs. David Mc-
Lean; Mrs. William McMillan gave
the treasurer's report, after which
Mrs. Andrew Kirk gave a talk on
Temperance, also Miss Tom read a
story, "A Challenge to Youth." Mrs.
Haugh of the Brucefield Auxiliary
then gave a very inspiring, address
on the Presbyterial meeting recently
held in St.' Marys. A closing hymn
with Mrs. Harvey Moore at the piano
was followed by prayer by Mrs. Jas.
Brown. At the close of the meeting
Mrs. Roy MeGeoch and her commit-
tee served a tempting lunch and the
ladies enjoyed a pleasant chat.
