A Serious Fire. -A very serious
fire occurred early Saturday morning
last when the large bank barn of Mr.
A. P. Joynt, juet outside the corpor-

destroyed by fire. The barn was Wee-

had in it at the time two teams of
working horses, a valuable delving
mare and Dolt, a car load of finished
flax fibre, 30 tons of hay, 450 bushels
of oats, harness, two mowers, a new
wagon and other articles, and these
were completely destroyed. The fire
was first noticed about 1.80 but had
gained such 'headway by -that time
that it was utterly impossible to res-
cue any of the stock or content.. The
clan who looke after the stock left
the building about six o'clock the pre -

with it had been in the barn after that
hour, ee that the cause of the fire is
a mystery. The flax was insured but
