Remember the old drink curse.
Remember' the monstrous wrongs
and cruelties it heaped on the help-
less and innocent, who ought to
have been protected and cherished.
Remember the dark shadows of
pain, the unhealed aches and bruises
that still remaftn to mark the dread-
ful havoc of the drink curse.
Remember its terrible aggressive-
ness if given the ghost of s chance,
as shown by the province -wide boot-

Remember that you can no mere

you can regulate a battalion of jack

The Late Wellington Barber.—Two
weeks ago we made brief mention of
Bowlers Re-organize.—A well at-
tended and enthusiastic meeting of
the Seaforth Lawn Bawling Club was
held in the council chamber on Toes -
day evening, when the club was re-
organized for the coming summer.
The treasurer's 'report showed the
pant season to have been a most
suceesiful one from every standpoint,
and in spite of very heavy expendi-
tures in installing an up-to-date light-
ing system and other improvements,
the year was closed with only a small
deficit and this will be provided for
before the season opens, so that the
club will start the year with a clean
sheet. Much of last year's success
was due to Mr. William Wilson who
put the greens into the best condition
they have been since the club was
organized and made them the best in
the county, which instilled new en-
thusiasm into the players and new
life into the club, and it is confi-
dently believed that the coming sea-
son will be even more successful.
The membership fee for the season
will he $6 for new members and $7
for old. Wednesday, June 8th, was
the date set for the Huron County
Tournament for the Merrier Trophy
and the annual Scotch Doubles Tourn-
ament will be held on '04edtiesday and
Thursday, July 20-21. The follow-
ing officers were elected: Hon. Presi-
dents, J..1. Mernes, M.P., C. Stewart,

the death of Mr. Wellington Barber
and the following, which is taken
from The Killarney, Manitoba, Guide,
of March 31st, will be of added in-

"We are again called upon to record
the death of a worthy citizen of
Killarney, in the person of Mr.
Wellington • Barber, who passed away
on Easter Sunday morning, March
27th, 1921. He came to reside in
this place about eight years ago.
During his stay he impressed us with
high ideals, of a moral life, and an
unblemished Christian character. His
motto was, live right and help others.
He was born in Leeds County, Ont.,
in 18.59, came to Manitoba in 1882,
settled at Snowflake, 1-9, where his
aspiration, home duties, and untiring
energy, enabled him to succeed. He
-took great interest in his rising
growing family in placing the moral,
intellectual, social and Christian life
before them. He acted as Sunday
school superintendent and as a mem-
ber of the quarterly official board,
but his history on earth is closed,
his work is done. He is survived by
his widow and eight children—Mrs.
W. B. Chase, R.C., A.E., and John B.,
of Windthorst, Sask.; Mrs. J. M. Gal-
braith, Churchbridge, SasIK.; W. C.,
of Brandon and Misses Gladys and
Ruth, teaching at 'Wolseley, Sask."
