The Absalom • - St. bridge, at the
foundry, is found to be somewhat out of
shape for traffic and steps are to be
taken at once to have it properly
repaired: -
Mr and Mrs Henry Gorth are guests
at Mr. G. E. Leisemer's, Mildmay this
week. On Tuesday these two families
along with a few other friends enjoyed-
a very pleasant day's picnic at Lakelet.
The Misses Kelly, who commenced a
fancy store a few weeks ago have
removed to Thorold where they hope to
find it much better for their business.
-They made many friends during their
short. stay here. -
Among those from this village who are
taking in the Toronto Exhibition this
week are: Mr and Mrs Oliver, Mrs Milne
Miss Addie Moyer, Messrs. Chas. Wendt
and John Curle. This party left on
Tuesday morning.
Mr. McGavin's,new traction engine
went through a small bridge on the
second concession last Tuesday evening.
Little damage was done beyond the loss
of time in extricating it and the break-
ing of some planks on the bridge.
Mr. Wm. Newell, of the 16th con.,
Howick, well known in Mildmay, died
on Saturday last from paralysis, at an -
advanced age and highly, . respected by
ail. His wife is, we are sorry to learn,
now in a very critical condition from an
attack of inflamation.
The death of Mrs. Brier occurred in
this village at 1 o'clock on Friday morn-
ing last an advanced age. She came
with her husband and family to Mild-
may a few years ago, where she bad a
brother, Mr. Henry Hunstein, and a sis-
ter, Mrs. 1. Diebel, living. -She was ae
consistent member of the Evangelical
church and was buried on Sunday
morning last, a large concourse Attend-
ing. She leaves a family and three
grown-up children.
The game of foot ball between the
Mildmay and Corrie teams, which was
played on Mr. Harrison s field here 1st
Saturday, drew out a large crows. The
game was very close and exciting, and
while no roughness or quarreling was
indulged in. between the players,: yet
the home team and the spectators were
exasperated at the decisions of the
referee. The first goal was taken by
Mildmay just after the referee claimed
to have blown the whistle for Half time,
and the second goal was taken by the
Gerrie team at so close to the "expira-
tion of the second half, that many of
the spee-tate sthink the time was more

mitten or delivered to the persons men-
tioned in Sections 5 and 6 of the Voters' List Act,
the copies required by said sections to be so
transmitted or delivered, of the list, made pur-
suant to said Act, of all persons by the last re-
vised Assessment Roll of the said Municipality
to be entitled to vote in the said Municipality at
elections for members of the Legislative Assem-
bly and at Municipal elections ; and that said
list was first posted up at my office, at Mildmay,
ou the 8th day of August, 1693, and remains there
for inspection.
Electors are called upon to examine the said
list, and if any omission or any other errors are
found therein to take immediate proceedings to
have the said errors corrected according to law.
