The deceased was the eldest son of the late C. L. VenEg- mond, and was born in this v Ilage in 1853. In 1876 he Was united in mar iage to 4essie, daughter of the late Jose h Collie, who, with a family of five sons and two daugh- ters, are left to moprn the lose of a husband and father, ever loving end considerate of their every want. As a citizen he was held , in the highest esteein, and it- can safely be said of him that he has gone to his heavenly home' without ever having made an enemy.
