" —Mr. James Holmes, son of Mr. Bennett Holmes, of the llth concession of Turnberry, met with a rather serious acoident one day last week in Wingha-m. He was going home from that town with a load of manure. and when near the railway bridge, a dog ran out at the horses, frightening them and causing them to run away. They ran the wagon on to a post, upsetting the load, and one of the wheels passed over Mr. Holmes' right ankle. He was at once taken to the residence of his brother, opposite the furniture factory, and medical aid procured. On an examina- tion being made, it was found that no bones were broken, a,nd he was suffi- ciently recovered by the next day to be -taken home, and. no doubt by this time is all right again.
