d By-law to Provide for the Thee nine of Silver Oreek In the
Town of Seaforth and Towuahi of Tuo eraudth, and fo ' levy-
ing the sum of 81,094.60 for Cao pletiig the Same.
PROVISIONALLY ADOPTED THE TWELFTH DAY OF SEPTEMBER A.D.
1876.
WHEREAS a `majority in number ofthe owners as shown by the last revised
assessment roll to be resident on the property hereinafter set forth to lie
benefitted by the deepening of said creehave petitioned the Council of the said
Town of Seaforth praying that the said Con cil would pass a Bylaw; providing for
the deepening of the saidcreek and showing that all that portion of the said Muni-
. cipality lying South of the Northern Bohn of mot 26 in the firit I Concession of
McKillop, in the County of Huron, and of he line of such boondp► ` if the same.
were extended to the East and West born ries of the said Municipality onld be
meterisally benefitted thereby, I
A.ND WHEREAS „thereupon`the said ouncil procured an exauunati n to be
made by D. ,S. Campbell, Esq., P. L. a., be' g a person competent for such purpose
of the said Creek proposed to be dee 4 : • = 4 and has also procured plans and esti-
mates of the work to be made by the • . S. Campbell, and an useesment to be
made by -him of the real property to be efitted by such deepening stating as
nearly as he can the proportion of benefit hich in his opinion will be derived is
consequence of such deepening by every ad and lot or portion of lot, the said
assessment so made and the report of the s id D. S. Campbell in respect thereof
, and, of the said deepening being as follows : ,

1st. That it is desirable to deepen the said Creek.
2nd. That the probable cost of deepentng the same in accordance with the
plane herewith submitted will be $1,0994.60
3rd. That in order to get suhelent fall t will be necessary to extend the Work
into Lot Number Ten -in the Second Con ice ion, H. R. S., Tuckersmith, a' distance
of about sixteen rods from the Southerly li Is of the Town of Seaforth, but in my
opinion no portion of the said Land should 4 : chargeable with the cost of any part
of said work.
4th. That the -annual cost, of maint ' 4 ' t : the said work in repair .should $3
borne by the said Town of Seaforth.
5tb. The lands to be benefitted by t e deepening of the said Creek and the
amounts to be asseised against the same respectively the assessment being in pro-
portion to the exte' t the Lands are respectively benefitted are as follows

BE IT THEREFORE enacted by, the said Municipal iouncil of the Town of 3ei
forth, pursuant to the provisions -of an Act,'of the Legislature of Ontario, pusedia
the Thirty -Sixth year of Her Majesty's reign, Chaptered'FortyEight. -
1st, That the said report, plans and estimates be adopted, and the said deer
ening, and the works connected therewith, be :made and constructed lu accordant*
therewith.
2. That for the purpose of paying the sum of Nine undred and One D01104
being the amount charged against the said lands to be be efitted as aforesaid, oto
