The pupils were examiiied in the branches
usually taught in public soh sols by their
teacher Mrs. Jas. Thomson, assisted; by
Mr. W. G. Duff and Mis Duncan] of
Bluevale, and acquitted the elves itt a
manner which reflects ,gre t credit , on
both there and their te er. About
one o'clock P. M. the pu sils brought
forth a great numbe 'of b skets loaded
with all the rich thins im ginablesand
passed them freely round among the
crowd till all had done perfe t justice to
the inner man. The repast being over
labor was again resumed a c the whole
afternoon till 5 P. M. was •pent even-
ining the different classes; Tbe arith-
metic classes were very we I drilled on
that subject, especially on t e analysis of
fractions. At the close ad resees were
delivered by some of th� visi c rain which
all stated that the school w s in a pro-
