0AsE SuNSTROKR. -On Saturday, the
10th inst., a little girl, daughter of Mr. J.

stm struck, and for a short time her life
was despaired of, but we are pleased to

RUNAWAY ACCIDENT. —On Thursday of
list week Mr. J. Miller and son,of Goder-
ich township, were on their way to Clin-
ton when their horses- took fright and ran
away, throwing both out with consider-
able force, and seriously injuring them.
One of the horses (the same one that was
injured in a similar manner a short time
since) was badly cut, and it is thought
"'Mime to be killed.
SERIOUS ACCIDRNT.-On Monday laet,
Mr. D. Kennedy, of Clinton'met with a
serious accident while helping Mr. S.
Fitzsimons to move a load of furniture
to Winfgham. It appears that the horses
took fright on the lull just at the junc-
tion of the base line and gravel road,
turning the load into the ditch, and
throwing both occupants out, the wagon
afterwards passing over Mr. Kennedy.
One of his ribs was broken; which pene-
trated, his lung, causing it to bleed, and
other injuries were inflicted on him.
The injuries, though serious, are not
dangerous, and, with care, he will soon
be out again. Mr. Fitzsimons escaped
uninjured.: The furniture was greatly
danaaged.
