—Mr. Jonathan B. Story, who left
Goderich last summer for the benefit of
his health, died on Monday night et last
week, on his way home. He died in a
sleeping -cat, and his remains were taken
off aea place called Winnemusea, Nevada.
When last ;heard from, Mr. Story
thought he was improving, and it was
his Improved feeling winch prompted
him to undertake so long a journey alone.
The body was buried at the place where
it was off the train, because a me-
-
tame coffin could, not be obtained to for-
ward it to Godorich.
e --A. horse belonging to Mr. Miles
Hoyt, Lot 14, Con, 1, Westminster, was
killed recently under very peculiai cir-
.cumstarices. It is the practice of Mr.
Hoyt to tie up his horses at night with a
thick rope, During the night the hinge
—it is supposed while scratching his
head—had his hind foot entangled in the
rope, and in the morning wile found with
his bead bruised and cut so that be died,
Can it be possible that the horse, after
his enta,nglement, voluntarily bruised
his head, as men have been known to
,commit suicide in that way, or received
the injuries in its struggles to free itself.
At all events, it should be a warning to
farmers to be careful bow they, tie up
their horses.
