The cheese rket is active with a fair delivery of farm dairies and factor- ies. About farm dairy cheeses are on the market, nd sales have been made at from Se to 1 ic, according to quality. Some parcels: are quite inferior, being badly skimmed and tough;: in texture. For factory cheese the rates paid range from 12i to 14e. accordling ten quality. The butter market is depressed, and prices lower, There is a large delivery, and the top price for fancy tubs is 24c. A good deal of! the butter on delivery was sold at 22c to 25c. Many of our dairymen are very much disappointed in regard to the state of the butter market, as they had anticipated an advance above the rates of last week. The marketfor the new crop of cheese is regarded as opening well, and at ;prices quite as high as was anticipated fox the early ship. ments of skim cheese, The weather continues cold and backward, with little growth. Dairy stock is high—good cowsranging from $60 to $70. Dairy men report the herds to be in good con- dition, and to be yielding fair returns.
