held at Shaw's Hotel, Kippen. ori
Wednesday -the 18th January. On
the evening of the same day the An-
nual Dinner will take place at the
above hotel, when seam al good
speakers are expected to be present,
and a good time generally_ is antici-
pated.
We observe, with regret that Mr.
W. F. Luxtou has sold the Seaforth
Expositor to Mr. McLean. In the

vastly improved the paper, and rais-
ed, the circede tion from only about
four bemired subsribers to nearly

.SCHOOL ExAMINATFON rN TUCKER-
-8311111.—On the evening of the
twenty-second of Decembr, an ex-
-exhibition. took place in the school
in School Section No nine, taught
by Mr. McLeod. The school had
-been previously examined by the
Rev. Mr. Aiken, of 'Kippen, and
found to be in a satisfactory condi.
tion. Shortly, after eight o'clock,
on the twenty-third, the large school
room was literal/ crowcted with
pupils and 'visitors. Mr. Martin
Sutherland, teacher of McKillep,
was called to the Chair, who after a
short address called upon the Eg-
mondville brass band, which was
present, to play a tone. The recita
tions then. Legere and continued till
after ten o'clock, the band playing
a tune now and then in fine style.
The pupilarecited well, and reflect-
ed greet credit . on their teethe!.
Dr. Campbell. of Seaforth, who was
present on special 'invitation, was
then called upon, and delivered
short address upon "Education in
Canads,”. after which the teacher
made his farewell address, thankirg
his pupils for some fine presents, in
the shape of books, which he had
received at their hands. - The chair-
-man then made a few remarks, after
which the band played God save the
Queen, and the eudience dispersed.
ODD -FELLOWS' ANNIvERSARY.---
A grand concert, ball and supper,
under the auspices of Fidelity
Lodge No. 55 of Odd -Fellows, held
in the Town Hall, on Wednesday
evening; the 21st inst., was a great
emboss. The hall was neatly dec-
orated, emblems and pictures adorn-
