That s what GreenField Ethanol managing director of logistics John Creighton told Bluewater council the banks have told the company about money to start construction of the Hensall ethanol plant. Creighton was at council Monday night to give an update on progress of the Hensall project and answer questions about GreenField s part of the pipeline project, although Bluewater Mayor Bill Dowson said no questions would be answered on GreenField s financial contribu- tion to the pipeline project. Creighton said the Hensall plant is a strategic investment for Green - Field and that with $20 million al- ready invested, "there is a passion to get it built." Killed were passenger 32 -year-old Trevor English of South Huron and driver Cindy Wilson, 52, of North Middlesex. OPP report that three young passengers in the van were taken to South Huron Hospital after suffering minor injuries. OPP Const. Joanna Van Mierlo said English was the father of the three children. The accident occurred at about 5 p.m. Monday night when the south- bound van went out of control, entered the northbound land sideways and was struck with full force by the tractor -trailer. Van Mierlo described the conditions as "wintry. The roads were slip- pery and it was snowing." The driver of the truck was not injured. Highway 4 was closed between Mount Carmel and Crediton roads for several hours. (photo/Ben Forrest) Hensall ethanol plant pany has bought land and permits, has done design work and is work- ing with the Ministry of Transpor- tation to connect to Highway 4, a process he said has taken longer than expected. Although the project is in good shape, the economic downturn has changed the market outlook, according to Creighton who said the situation for ethanol is better in Canada than it is in the United States where several ethanol plants have filed for bankruptcy, although they are still in production. The situation is better in Canada, Creighton said, because of gov- ernment support.
