Remembering with honour

GRANTON CORRESPONDENT
GRANTON The Remembrance Day Service
was held on Sun., Nov 9 at Granton -Wesley
United Church instead of at the cenotaph. The
Lucan Legion attended and poppy chair Barb
Tuxford led the service.

ily by Kevin 0 Connor.
Pastor Paul Vollick led the church service
and the message was entitled, Why We Re-
member. The

Christ candle.

Time was also shared with the young people of
the congregation. Herbert also read the names
of Granton area church Veterans and Lloyd
Mardlin laid a wreath in their memory.
Happy Birthday to Alma Nicholson, who will
be celebrating her birthday at the Ritz Lutheran
Villa in Mitchell on Fri., Nov 14 from 2-4 p.m.

I Veterans and Brent Blackler read the names
of World War II Veterans and silence was ob-
served. At time of fellowship followed the ser-
vice in the lower church hall.
Clandeboye WI
Clandeboye Women s Institute sponsored their
semi annual dessert euchre on Tues., Nov. 4 at St.
James Church hall, Clandeboye, with a good atten-
dance.
Prizes were awarded for high scores to Jim Bak-
ker and Lillian Collver; low scores to Pat Davis and
Florence McIntyre; lone hands to Harvey Walper
and Margaret Stotesbury-Leeson and other prizes
were won by Jim Davis and Dorothy Evoy.
