Back to the garden —The local Communities in Bloom committee was busy Saturday morning planting a new
garden at the corner of Main and Victoria streets. Planted were perennials which will be able to handle the build-up
of snow in the winter, and salt -tolerant shrubs and plants. All the plants will grow low to the ground to avoid any
obstruction with traffic. Pictured from left are Tom Seip, Dianne Waun, Eric, Jordan and Carla Goodfellow, Dave Atthil
and Cathy Seip. Seip said a recent Communities in Bloom fundraising draw raised about $1,000. Joe Wilds won a
quilt, Shirley Brintnell won a bicycle and Christine Ferguson won Big Macs at McDonald's for a year. Money raised
from the draw helped build the new garden.Volunteers are still needed for Communities in Bloom.Anyone interest-
ed can call Seip at 235-2828. (photo/Scott Nixon)
