Judith Ritchie was in charge of the regular church service on Sunday morning. Rev. Judith lit the Christ candle. The opening hymn When Morning Guilds the Skies was sung. Rev. Judith welcomed everyone and everyone passed the Peace. The Introit We Praise You for Your Love was sung. Rev. Judith led in the call to worship responsively. The opening prayer was read in unison. Rev. Judith gave the announcements. Sydney and Mitchell Rowcliffe lit the red candle for Peace. The Old Testament Lesson Exodus 17:1-17 was read by Rev. Judith. Rev. Judith told Sydney and Mitchell about a letter and then they made one and put it in an envelope. Everyone sang the Lord's Prayer in unison. Psalm 78:1-4, 12 - 16 was read responsively. The choir sang accompanied by the pianist Marilyn Vandenbussche. The New Testament Lesson Philippians 2:1-13 was read by Rev. Judith. The title of Rev. Judith's message was "Interior Lights" and everyone sang the hymn He is Lord, three times. The hymn 0 For a Thousand Tongues was sung. The Affirmation of Faith: "A New Creed" was read in unison. Jane Rowcliffe and Sydney and Mitchell received the offering. The Doxology was sung and everyone read the Offertory Prayer. Rev Judith gave the prayers of the people. Everyone sang the hymn Lord, Speak to Me. Rev. Judith gave the commissioning and pronounced the benediction. Everyone sang the choral benediction. Volunteers needed!! Town and Country Support Services are in need of volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to the elderly and home bound. Euchre was played and the following people won prizes: Ladies high Agnes Bray; Ladies low Leona Cottle; Ladies lone Myrtle Pengelly. Men's high Bill Rohde; Men's low Jack Borland; Men's lone Ross Hodgert. Ross Hodgert read a nicely worded address and Agnes Bray presented Jack and Betty with two solar lights. After opening the gifts both replied. A delicious lunch was partaken of which brought an enjoyable evening to a close from the old neighbourhood gang. All it takes is a smile to show you care.
