DOCPROPERTY "Document number" \* MERGEFORMAT 308-013 Water Distribution (Ward 1) Pressure Zone Upgrades SEALED TENDERS, clearly marked as to contents, will be received by The Municipality of South Huron, 322 Main Street South, Box 759, Exeter, ON NOM 1S6, Telephone: 519.235.0310, on or before: 2:00 p.m. local time Wednesday, October 15, 2008 for work generally consisting of supplying materials, labour and equipment for, and the construction of, two (2) pressure reducing valve chambers, and four (4) gate valve isolation chambers within an existing water distribution system. The Work includes, but is not limit- ed to, removal of an existing 1.2m diameter pressure reducing valve chamber and associated valves and piping, installation of two (2) 2.4 by 1.8 m rectangular pre -cast valve chambers complete with hydraulically operated pressure reducing valves, stainless steel pip- ing, bypass bleeder line and associated equipment, installation of four (4) 1.8m diameter pre -cast gate valve isolation chambers com- plete with bleeders and associated watermain repairs. The Work also includes excavation, grading, drainage and site restoration works as required. Plans, Specifications, and Tender Forms (hardcopy and digital PDF) may be obtained on September 30, 2008 after 9:00 a.m. at the Guelph office of the Consulting Engineers for a non-refundable fee of thirty dollars ($30.00), which includes GST, per set (cheque payable to Gamsby and Mannerow Limited). Each tender must be accompanied by a tender deposit in the form of a certified cheque or bid bond in the amount of $10,000.00. The successful Bidder must provide a Performance Bond for 100% of the total lump sum tender price and a Labour and Material Payment Bond for 50% of the total lump sum tender price. NOTE: Bidders shall satisfy themselves as to the existing conditions and limitations which may be encountered in constructing the proposed works. While no mandatory site meeting is scheduled, the Bidder shall personally examine the site and location of the proposed works. The tenders will be opened in public on the closing date by the Tender Committee. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Wednesday morning Lisa Stewart, music therapist presided over drumming group with its many enthusiastic mem- bers. We are very pleased to now have Lisa on site twice each week with one of her visits devoted to individual music therapy with several residents. Residents are also benefiting from additional hours with mas- sage therapist Lori Burt. Queensway's programs depart- ment is very happy to be able to expand these valuable thera- pies. Resident council met Friday morning to discuss upcoming events as well as give their sug- gestions for a new newsletter format as we work to expand and improve our newsletter and make it more relevant to resi- dents and their families Queensway's Auxiliary/Family Council will also be asked for suggestions at their meeting Oct. 7. The Quilters Guild purchased the bat and backing material while Northcott Fabrics of Toronto donated the tops. Thank you to the Zurich Quilters Guild for thinking of us. Thursday evening John and Geneva Heaman were the fea- tured entertainment at the September birthday party, play- ing for a full house made up of residents, family members help- ing their loved ones celebrate, community and volunteers. Everyone had a great evening enjoying the Classic Country that John and Geneva play so well as the delicious lemon cream birth- day cake was served. Bingo with the Hensall Presbyterian women drew a good crowd Monday afternoon Habitat fundraiser as residents gathered for their favourite game which is spon- sored by various church groups on Monday afternoons. Throughout the week residents spent much time outdoors enjoying walks and the Ice- cream Parlour program was held outdoors on the deck as well. Members of Breakfast group gathered in the Cafe Tuesday morning to feast on eggs, bacon, toast, fruit and delicious freshly brewed coffee. Volunteer Donna Smale assisted at the program where residents listen to their favourite radio station over breakfast or visit with fellow resi- dents that they don't usually dine with.
