EXETER — After several months of
preparation and hard work the "Senior
Revitalization Project" committee in
partnership with Parkbridge Lifestyle
Communities is well on its way to
becoming a major asset for all seniors in
South Huron.
The "Senior Revitalization Project"
committee of Riverview Estates in
Exeter has received a "New Horizons
for Seniors" federal grant, allowing the
committee to carry out projects for
seniors in the community, as well as to
refurbish and modernize their club-
house.
A variety of programs will be available
in the coming months featuring "foot
care, movie nights, luncheons with
speakers, Bible clubs, exercise pro-
grams, just to name a few," says
Parkbridge Lifestyle communities repre-
sentative Teresa Ondrejicka.
The committee received $23,914.98.
Some of the money has already been
allocated with $10,000 used to replace
equipment and furnishings while
$15,000 will be used for repairs or ren-
ovations to existing facilities.
Some renovations include a new
fridge, repairing the pool table and dart
boards, a renovated exercise room with
new exercise equipment, new chairs,
replacing a rug and replacing the fire-
place with a gas fireplace insert.
Riverview Estates is owned and oper-
ated by Parkbridge Lifestyle
Communities, who bought the property
in June 2006. Riverview Estates consists
of 86 modular homes and is known as
