THAMES ROAD - Rev. Judith
Ritchie was in charge of the regular
church service on Sunday morning
which was held in the basement.
Rev. Judith lit the Christ candle
and everyone stood and sang Oh
Canada. Rev. Judith gave words of
welcome and everyone passed the
Peace.
The Introit We Praise You for
Your Love was sung.
Rev. Judith led in the call to wor-
ship responsively and everyone
read the opening prayer in unison.
Karen Etherington gave a minute
for mission "Getting to know how to
roll with the punches."
Rev. Judith gave the announce-
ments. Beatrice Dawson lit the red
candle for peace.
Rev. Judith read the first
Scripture Lesson Matthew 11:16-
19, 25-30.
Everyone sang The Lord's Prayer.
Psalm 72 was read responsively.
The choir sang One By One accom-
panied by the pianist Jean Hodgert.
Beatrice Dawson read the second
Scripture Lesson Luke 5:15-16,
Luke 6:12; Mark 1:32-35.
The title of Rev. Judith's message
was "What's It All About?"
Everyone sang the hymn What A
Friend We Have in Jesus and read
the affirmation of our faith "A New
Creed."
Kathy Bray and John Miner
received the offering as well as
being greeters. Everyone sang The
Doxology, and read the offertory
prayer.
Rev. Judith said the prayers for
the people. Everyone sang the
hymn Take Time to Be Holy.
Rev. Judith gave the commission-
ing and pronounced the benedic-
tion. Everyone sang the choral
benediction. After church everyone
stayed for delicious cup cakes and
different beverages provided by
Rev. Judith. Thanks very much.

of the benevolent fund, sponsored
by our outreach committee.
Located on the desk near the photo
copier you will find books, maga-
zines and other items of interest.
You may choose something to bor-
row and leave your offering in the
box provided. These items will be
available every week. Anyone may
contribute items for others to bor-
row and to read. All monies col-
lected will support the benevolent
fund.
The loose offering from last
week's service, designated for the
Exeter and Area Community Food
Bank, was $71.50.

July 20 - CLUC Service at Kirkton
United Church shed at 10 a.m.
Please bring lawn chairs. BBQ hot-
dogs and ice cream sundaes to fol-
low. Theme: Learning from the
children's stories.
Aug. 18 - Out of the Cold program

SHDHS reunion planned
EXETER - The 80's are back!
A reunion is scheduled on Aug. 2, at the South Huron
Rec Centre for those who attended SHDHS during the
1980s.
Tickets are $25 and are on sale at Movie Gallery in
Exeter, or by contacting Tim Rowcliffe
timaro@yahoo.com. Luncheon will be provided and
entertainment is courtesy of Jane's Rehab. Proceeds
from the event are going to Scott and Denise Halpenny
to assist in her treatment for MS.
