Strang to retire
SOUTH HURON — The Municipality of South Huron
will find itself looking for a new clerk after Sandra
Strang informed council she will retire at the end of
the year.
Strang has been with South Huron since amalgama-
tion in 2001 and before that worked for the former
Usborne Township as clerk.
In a letter to council, Strang said, "I have enjoyed my
work as municipal clerk and there has seldom been a
day that lacked interest or inspiration. I have had the
pleasure of sharing many council meeting hours with
some of the brightest and most respected members of
our community and I have benefited over the years
from the wisdom of these accomplished individuals."
In a press release issued Monday, council accepted
Strang's retirement "with mixed emotions and wished
her a long and happy retirement."
South Huron will begin looking for Strang's replace-
ment over the summer.
