As a result of the renovations, the ER entrance and main Huron Street entrance will not be accessible for the next four months. Instead, patients and visitors at the hospital must use the eastern -most entrance on Huron Street. A temporary shelter and signage will be installed indicating which entrance to use, hospital CEO Deb Hunt said Monday. During renovations, there will be no change to the in-patient or emergency services the hospital offers, Hunt said — the emergency department will still run 24 hours a day. An aluminum -covered roof with generous overhangs will take care of any snow during the winter and shade the large feature windows during the summer. The entrance leads into a central corridor that accesses all the rooms on the main level. At the front of the house is a spectacular two-storey living room with a sloping ceiling. Ensuring the room is both cosy and filled with natural light, there is a gas fireplace and almost floor -to -ceiling windows. The adjoining dining area is an extension of the kitchen, which features an island with a raised eating bar and a door that opens on to the veranda and the sun deck. The master suite is privately placed at the back of the house, next to a three-piece bathroom. A laundry room, as well as linen, broom and coat cupboards, completes the main level. On the second floor, a loft area, which overlooks a railing to the living area below, will make an ideal media room and provide space for games and other recreational activities. Bedrooms two and three, overlooking the back garden, share a three-piece bathroom. The double garage is at the rear and has access to the house through the laundry room, which doubles as a useful mud room, a necessity for any recreational home. Siding and shakes with stone bases on the pillars add to the exterior's attractive appearance. The home measures 42 feet wide and 64 feet deep, with 1,798 square feet of living space.
