Wednesday, January 30, 2008 Times–Advocate 3 Groups kick off Victoria Park revitalization EXETER — The Exeter Lioness, along with their partners the Exeter Lions and the South Huron Rec Department are hoping their vision to revital- ize Victoria Park on Huron Street in Exeter will have phase one completed by the end of the year, with several recent donations helping them to get started on their goal. The Lioness are spearheading the project and hope to start work early in the spring with between $80,000 and $100,000 needed for the first phase. If further funds are available, more work will be considered including a splash pad. The new park will be a fully accessible learning experience with a butterfly garden, alphabet lane, touch and feel garden and a metal sculpture donation tree. The Lioness have received a $10,000 donation from Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church as well as $18,961 from Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Lioness will also help with the Trivitt Thanksgiving celelebration this year and will receive the proceeds. A copy of the proposed playground drawing is hanging at the Rec Centre office for anyone to see. (pho- tos/submitted) Search finds marijuana and firearms SOUTH HURON — The OPP Drug Enforcement Section and Huron County Crime Unit, after executing a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Warrant to Search, found an estimated $33,000 of marijuana at a Hern Line farm in South Huron. The OPP also seized numerous firearms, ammunition, associated drug trafficking items and money. Three South Huron residents are charged with possession of cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and numerous firearm offences. This investigation is continuing. POLICE BRIEF Jeep stolen from residence CREDITON — A vehicle was stolen from Crediton sometime between 1 and 5 a.m. Jan. 24. The locked vehicle was parked at a residence on Victoria Avenue East. There were two suspects involved in the theft.
