Thanks to Les and Barry and Melonie Miller who deliv- ered the tree to the church. The tree and across the front of the church was beautifully decorated along with the window sills. There was a pyramid of 10 poinsettias on a stand in front of the pulpit. Anne Kernick lit the candle for Peace and announced the hymn 0 Come, 0 Come Emmanuel which everyone sang. Anne gave the announcements. John and Ola Batten read about the Advent Wreath with Ola lighting the candle of Hope in the Advent wreath. Marianne Veldman read the Old Testament Lesson Isaiah 2:1-5. The Lord's Prayer was sung in uni- son and Psalm 122 was the respon- sive reading. The choir sang Here Comes the Light accompanied by the pianist Marilyn Vandenbussche which was much enjoyed. Melonie Miller read the Gospel Lesson Matthew 24:36-44 "No One Knows the Day or Night." The message entitled "Many Hands" was a presentation by the worship committee namely Judith Parker, Melonie Miller, Anne Kernick, and Marianne Veldman which was well done. They quoted different verses of Scripture and the Christmas story. They handed out cardboard hands which you were to trace around the fingers and write your name on it. Everyone took them forward and their White Gifts put in a basket. Everyone sang the hymn Jesus' Hands were Kind Hands, and read the affirmation of our Faith "A New Creed." Anne Kernick spoke about the offering and Judith Parker and her daughter Megan received the offer- ing. Anne offered prayer and the Doxology was sung.
