The Times Advocate, 2007-12-05, Page 2020 SPORTS Times -Advocate Wednesday, December 5, 2007 Jets roll with two more wins Results from the Exeter Skating Club By Nina Van Lieshout TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF CLINTON - "It was a good week- end," says Lucan Ilderton Jets gen- eral manager Rob Andrews, whose team beat the Clinton Radars 6-3 Friday night in Clinton and the Thedford Dirty Dogs 7-2 Saturday night in Thedford. "Those were two pretty big games," says Andrews, adding, "the more you win and they lose will help us in the standings." The Jets were up to 1-0 after the first period Friday night, with Todd Hunt scoring a shorthanded goal. After the second, the Jets were up 3-2, with Jason Wilson and Greg Lalonde both scoring. In the third, the teams tied, but the Jets brought it home scoring three quick goals in the third. Goal scorers were Brad Yeo, Mark Landon and Todd Hunt. Andrews says many penalties were called during the game. He also says goalie K.J. Robinson "played really well." On Saturday in Thedford, the "boys started off a little sluggish," according to Andrews, but were up 3-0 in the first with Hunt, Kelly Thomson and Kyle Smith scoring. In the second period the Jets were scoreless, with Thedford scoring one goal, making the score 3-1. In the third, the Jets scored four more goals, with Hunt, Alex Butkus, Corey Smith and Lalonde scoring goals, making the final score 7-2. Andrews says although he's pleased with the season so far, "we have our work cut out for us." The next four games are in Lucan, but Andrews says the next three games will be tough with Tavistock, Clinton and Exeter to play against. The Jets play Tavistock on Saturday at 8:30 p.m., a team they lost to last month. "Hopefully we'll have a full line- up," says Andrews.
