Choice steers and heifers sold 86 - 90 sales to 96. Second cut sold 84-86. Cows also sold separately. Thursday: Veal, lambs, goats and sheep all sold on a steady market. Friday: Calves sold $2-$3 lower, with yearlings selling steady. Steers There were 296 steers on offer. Twenty-two steers consigned by Enoch Martin, Proton Station averaging 1507 lbs selling for an average of 92.41 with a blk steer weighing 1445 lbs selling to Dominion Meat Packers for 96. Three steers consigned by Art Bos, Blyth averag- ing 1398 lbs selling for an average of 90.70 with a blk steers weighing 1375 lbs sold for 93.75. The market at Denfield Livestock sales traded actively with the good fed and fancy cattle in good demand at prices $2 - $3 higher. A good offering of cows traded steady, stockers steady, holstein bull calves a little stronger. Don Eedy and Mark Vanderploeg, Denfield sold 29 heifers average weight 1401 average price 92.07 to a high of 94.75 purchased by Norwich Packers. Duncrief Farms, Denfield sold 11 steers average weight 1355 average price 90.88. Morley Hodgins, Parkhill sold 17 steers average weight 1358 average price 90.23. Four woman competed, featuring Danielle Curran, Sarah DeGroot, Sarah Nixey and Nicole Studenny.The 2006 Ilderton Fair Ambassador Belinda Bowman crowned DeGroot at the end of night as the 2007 Ilderton Fair Ambassador.
