Arena foreman Rob Volland said organizations such as the Bayfield/Clinton/Hensall Minor Hockey organiza- tion, the Bluewater Hawks and the Huron -Perth Lakers have taken some of the time and staff are working on setting up a Saturday night recreation- al league. Volland said the arena will miss the almost $1,000 the Sherwoods paid for their hall rental but there wasn't much being made from the con- cession stand during Sherwoods games any- way. The changes won't affect the Oct. 1 date ice will be put in the Hensall arena, said Volland, since the Sherwoods had their hockey camps in Zurich. The date the ice is removed from the arena also won't be changed, according to Volland with groups wanting ice until May 1. "It's getting harder, no doubt," said Volland of trying to fill ice time. "The kids aren't there like they were 15 years ago...you've got to beat the doors a little harder. It used to be you'd have to turn people away. Now you have to start making the phone calls."
