The students ofTristarTaekwondo of South Huron have recently participated in three
tournaments.The first tournament was held in Cobourg April 22-23 and included a colour
belt tournament together with the second OntarioTaekwondo team qualifying event. Will
Potter,Trevor Leyten and Kaylee Myatte earned a first in sparring and Jackey Le -Ha earned
a third in patterns while Nicole Leyton was third in Sparring. Myatte was first in sparring
and Mac Potter and Katey Potter placed second in sparring at the Ontario team qualifier
event. Based on points from other tournaments, Mac and Kate have earned positions on
the Ontario Taekwondo team that will be traveling to Saskatoon for the Canadian Junior
National Event June 2-4. The second tournament held April 29, was in London at H.B.
Beal Secondary School. Will Potter earned a first in sparring and second in patterns.Allison
Le -Ha received a first in patterns while Scott Harris earned a second in sparring and a
third in patterns. Honorable mention goes to Brooklyn Dayman of Zurich who lost her
final match in triple overtime. The third event was held in Georgetown, May 7. Dayman
earned a second in sparring and a fourth in patterns. Congratulations to all the athletes.
