(photo/Nina Van Lieshout) Public assistance needed in suspicious barn fire SOUTH HURON — Huron OPP along with the Huron Park Fire Department and Dashwood's Tanker responded to a barn fire May 26 at approximately 11:30 p.m. The fire at 38757 Kirkton Road, south, in South Huron is considered suspicious. Located in the building was farm equipment valued at more then $8,000. The barn's estimated value is unknown at this time. The investigation is continuing. If you have any information that can assist Police with this investigation, please call the OPP or CRIME STOPPERS at 1- 800-222-8477 (1 -800 -222 -TIPS). Crediton Fish Fry June 16 CREDITON - The guest speaker at Zion United Church in Crediton Sunday morning was Mark Graves of Stratford and his message was entitled, "Purpose and Meditation are the One and the Same?" The annual church anniversary service will be held next Sun., June 4 and Zion has been very fortunate in being able to book a rising new Christian singing group called "Heaven's Gate". This is a won- derful opportunity to worship our Lord in song. This is one Sunday you do not want to sleep in or head for the beach. The third annual Shriners Fish Fry is set for Fri., June 16 at the Crediton ball park. Full particu- lars can be seen in the Coming Events section of this issue of the T -A. KATIE EMMRICH SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OFFICER at the Crediton Cemetery is Sim., June 25. C.W.I. - The Crediton Women's Institute held their annual Mystery Night on May 24. Members and spouses and friends traveled to the Bayfield area to visit the Te -Em Nursery Farm. There they browsed the one acre greenhouse to see the annual and perennial plants and shrubs. Members bought some supplies to plant their flower beds and planters. From there they went to the Bayfield Berry Farm where they were served with a delicious sup- per at 6:30 p.m. After supper the business meeting was held and members enjoyed browsing their show room of crafts and baked goods. The next meeting will be the annual picnic in June at the home of Alma Davey. The tentative date is set for June 17 with confirma- tion in mid June. That will also be planning night, so come with some new and interesting ideas. Anne Cottel volunteered to look after the games for that night. POLICE BRIEF Ironwood break and enter EXETER — On May 21 Huron OPP responded to a motion alarm at Ironwood Golf Club on Morrison Line in South Huron. The officer observed that thieves had smashed a glass door to the business to gain entry. The Act increases bans on smoking in enclosed public places and in enclosed workplaces across Ontario. It also prohibits the sale of tobacco products to youth under the age of 19.
