The town's bid for Hockeyville is once again looking to the surrounding communities for support as the contest enters the homestretch. On a request from the CBC, Wingham is being encouraged to collect all the letters and e-mails they can to take to the taping in Hamilton June 6 and 9. Families, friends and busi- nesses from across Canada are invited to say why they think Wingham deserves to be Hockeyville. The more communities that show support for Wingham, the better. The Wingham Puck -Hogs also plan to arrange a bus trip to the June 9 taping in Hamilton when the top 10 communities will be announced on air. When sending your com- munity endorsement, be sure to include who you are, where you're from and why Wingham deserves the Hockeyville title. Letters and e-mails can be sent to The Wingham Advance -Times, 206 Josephine St. Box 390, Wingham, Ont., or to edi- tor@wingham.com The video The taping of the next video will begin May 16 at 6:30 p.m., with a rain date of May 17.
