REGIONAL WRAP UP 21.8% of goal met MIDDLESEX — The United Way of London - Middlesex has raised $1,400,631 towards its goal, working out to 21.8 per cent. The campaign gained $100,000 recently, according to The Parkhill Gazette. Workplaces including ING Insurance, London City Hall and TD Commercial Banking have all launched campaigns. The 7th Annual United Way Breakfast is scheduled on Nov. 1 from 7 to 9 a.m. at Johnny Buck's Restaurant in Strathroy. The Strathroy Chamber of Commerce is partnering up with the restaurant for the event. Argonauts visit GDCI GODERICH — Two members of the Toronto Argonauts delivered a strong message to the stu- dents at Goderich District Collegiate Institute (GDCI) recently. Argos communications manager Jason Colero and offensive lineman Jude St. John spoke to the school for the Huddle Up Against Bullying pre- sentation, according to The Goderich Signal -Star. Colero detailed his experiences trying to make the football team in Grade 9 while getting bullied. The program is a co-ordinated effort between the Argos, Tim Hortons and the individual schools developed in an attempt to lower bullying statistics. Drivers needed in Seaforth SEAFORTH — The Huron -Perth Cancer Society is in desperate need of volunteer drivers, according to The Huron Expositor. "People turn to us when they don't have any other way to get to their cancer appointments," says Janis Cunningham, manager of the Society's Huron -Perth Unit. There are drivers in Clinton, Mitchell and Goderich but none in Seaforth. Volunteer drivers take cancer patients to local areas for their appointments. Some also go to London and/or Kitchener. The driver is able to choose where they drive.
