Students off to college

GRANTON — At the Granton -Wesley United Church
on Sun., Aug. 28, Lay Pastor Paul Vollick led the ser-
vice and the message was entitled, "Just Common
Courtesy."
The lessons were from Jeremiah 9 and Romans 12.
Brendan Whiting lit the Christ candle. The children's
time was "Friends, Let Us Love Each Other."
Sunday School registration is scheduled for Sun.,
Sept. 11 before the service.
At St. Paul's Anglican
Church in Kirkton on Sun.,
Aug. 28, Rev. Dalice Sim
celebrated the Holy Eucharist. The message was about
overpowering evil with good. Mary Ruttan read the
lesson.
Prayers were offered for Bill Waghorn who suffered
a fall resulting in injury to his hip.
Amanda -Rose Shearme left on Friday for Caronport,
Saskatchewan where she will be completing a four
year B.A. in Music and Arts at Briarcrest College. She
was accompanied by friends April Bauman and
Breanne Rasimus who are also enrolled at the college.

POLICE BRIEF
Woman injured in crash
SOUTH HURON — A single vehicle crash occurred on
Crediton Road, west of London Road in South Huron.
On Aug. 27 a green 1999 Pontiac was westbound on
Crediton Road when the driver crossed over the road-
way and entered the ditch, striking a culvert before
becoming airborne. The vehicle slid on its roof, across a
set of train tracks before corning to a stop. A 20 -year-
old female from South Huron was taken to South
Huron Hospital by ambulance where she is being treat-
ed for non -life threatening back injuries.
