Hensall committee offers thanks to communi

HENSALL CORRESPONDENT
HENSALL — At Hensall United Church the service
began with an organ prelude, welcome and announce-
ments, joys and concerns, and the Passing of the Peace.
Maggie Jinks lit the Christ candle and gave the read-
ing followed by the Call to Worship and Prayer.
The Scripture reading was from Genesis, the second
reading was from Matthew 15:21-28. "Overcoming
Barriers" was the title of Les Hills' message.
The service closed with the singing of "All Hail the
Power of Jesus' Name", benediction and choral Amen.
Les Hills was the minister with Deb Lambert playing
the organ. The ushers were Judy Kyle and Mona
Alderdice.
Very special thanks
The Hensall Community Action Development
Committee wish to thank the Hensall United Church, the
I-Iensall Firemen and all the volunteers—with very spe-
cial thanks to Bill Taylor—for all the help they received
with their fish fry.
Hopefully this sellout dinner will become an annual
event. The proceeds will go to the leaf -blowing fund.
The sympathy of the community is with the Alderdice
family on the passing of Verne's mother.
Car insurance missing
SOUTH HURON — On July 10th a 19-year-ol male
from London was charged with driving a motor vehicle
without insurance. Police stopped the driver on Airport
Line in South Huron for speeding. The man was asked
to produce an insurance slip for the vehicle, a red 1994
Pontiac Grand Prix but didn't have proof of insurance
with him The officer investigated further and learned
the driver had cancelled his insurance long before he
was stopped by police.

If you are an asthmatic and are using your
reliever inhalers very often throughout the day,
check with your doctor. Perhaps the doses of
your other inhalers might need adjusting. One of
the other inhalers is usually an anti-inflammatory drug which is
used routinely and is referred to as a preventer.
There are many causes of chronic headaches and one of them
could be of dental origin. Poorly aligned or even missing teeth
might be the culprit. Symptoms include pain behind the eyes, sore
jaw muscles, dizziness, teeth grinding, clicking of jaw joints and
earaches or ringing in the ears. Seek professional help.
It was away back in 1828 that nicotine, a highly poisonous
chemical, was first isolated from tobacco.
Vitamin K is important in the production of bone. Although the
Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) is 90 mcg for women and
120mcg for men daily, studies have shown that ingestion of at least
254 mcg is a good daily intake to help prevent hip fractures. A half
a cup of kale has 530 mcg of Vitamin K. Other foods high in this
vitamin are spinach and collards greens.

Some people say
that 1 pig produces
more waste than
10 humans.
Now
that
stinks.
Recycle Look closely at the facts. The
average pig requires about 3.5 litres of water
a day. You and I use that much just washing
our hands. When it comes to waste, pigs
produce a combination of manure and water
that adds up to about 7 litres per day - with
100% recovered and reused as highly effective
natural fertilizer. You can't say that about
human waste that also includes everything
from wash water to household chemicals.
Today's hog farms combine science, practical
experience and common sense to reduce waste
and recycle absolutely everything possible,
especially manure. The truth is clear - and
anything less than that stinks.
